So Which Side Are You On?

Trends are all around us all the time. Trends are driving your behavior subconsciously much of the time.

I have noticed a trend over the last 3 years that is particularly troubling to me. My husband’s industry has a lot of people retiring in the last 3 years. As I am sure many industries are seeing as the baby boomer population retires. However, this trend is quite sad and upsetting. Almost every person who has retired that we know, has either died themselves, their wife dies or they are diagnosed with a super serious illness and are given months to live. Now I don’t often get all serious on you, my intent is to keep health light and easy. But this trend is some freaky shit.

Another trend that I have seen and been a part of is the all consuming quest to succeed and rise in a company or industry and this J-O-B becomes the priority above all else. Above sleeping well or much. Above eating well. Above working out. Above stress management, hell it’s more like stress pile on. Above seeing your family as much as you’d like to.

This is a model that we need to break. We need to quit putting everything else first before out health and quit thinking of our health as an after thought. Something we don’t actually pay any attention to until we get a major F’ning wake up call. At my house we say health is your wealth. And when you think about it, this is the truest of the true. Without health you have nothing. No amount of wealth can save your health. And we need to quit putting off our health to build wealth to then use all the wealth we built trying to save our health that we threw away.

Break the trends.

Choose you now. Choose health now. Choose all the different lifestyle habits to support your health not destroy it. Choose to prioritize you now, today, not tomorrow or next year, NOW.
